HOW DO YOU BECOME A QUALIFIED PADI open water DIVER?

There are 3 steps to becoming a PADI Open Water diver:
  1. Theory – on signing up to the course you will receive your E-learning code to the email you supply on Booking that allows you to complete all of the theory on a PC, Mac or tablet.
  2. Confined water – Join Us in Lisburns  heated pool and learn all of the safety skills to become a Qualified open water scuba diver.
  3. Open water – Once you’ve learned in the pool, then you need to do four open water dives. These are normally done over 2 days. You can complete them with us over a weekend around the Coast of Northern Ireland from Strangford Lough, Larne, or the Causeway Coast.

Learning to dive is a lot of fun! During your scuba diving certification PADI open water course you will learn all the dive skills you need to dive safely with your buddy.

This course is for beginners and includes.

 Some theory Knowledge Development
 5 confined water dives (usually completed in Lisburn leisure Plex)
4 Open water dives Completed in the Ocean

 By the end of your PADI open water Diver course you will be able to dive to 18 metres with a dive buddy. You will receive the scuba certification PADI open water certification which is valid worldwide giving you a ticket to an awesome underwater adventure! Our experienced dedicated Dive Team of Padi Pros registered through The padi professional association of diving instructors will teach your PADI diving course in small groups. Ensuring that you progress at your Padi course, receiving a lot of attention from your instructor so that you can relax throughout your training. Allowing you time to build your confidence, increase your dive skills and becoming a competent PADI open water diver.

  • 5 Wednesday Evenings ( Consecutive if possible) for confined Pool sessions full kit hire included (in Lisburn Leisure Plex heated pool)
  • 4 open water dives over 2 days usually at the weekends
  • Kit hire included for Open Water dives; suit, Air cylinder, regulators and gauges, BCD, weights and dive computer.

Maximum depth: 18 metres (10-11 year olds is 12 metres) Minimum age: 10 years old Medical: Good general health, if you have any medical problems please contact us beforehand.

  • 5 Hopefully consecutive Wednesday evenings.
  • 2 Days in the Ocean, Normally at the weekends but flexible to suit you.
  • To be able to swim and float and it helps if your comfortable in the water 
  • There is NO AGE LIMIT to complete a Padi diving Course But you need to be in reasonable physical health. if you can answer NO to all the questions on the diver medical form found at the bottom of this page then your good to go or if there is a YES answer have your doctor sign fit to dive. some GPs wont sign if you have this problem give us a call and we will give you a few numbers of diving specialists doctors who could help and advise.
